AERZEN Blower for pneumatic conveyance

Success Story - Lutter Galvanotechnik

The new plant for Lutter Galvanotechnik includes a filling station, a mixing station and a bagging station, but does not have an expensive and complex weighing station. the conveying air is generated by an Aerzen Positive Displacement Blower GM 3 S

Lutter Galvanotechnik GmbH in Bischberg produces electroplating pulverised ready mixtures. The customers dissolve this powder in water which forms a chemical bath in which oil, grease and layers of scale and coatings of rust are removed from metal parts to provide ideal conditions for further processing.
In former times these mixtures had been conveyed manually via gyro wheel mixers generating considerable dust loading in the production facilities. The consequence was pollution of the respiratory tract of the employees and substantial extra costs for additional cleaning. This was the reason why Lutter searched for a solution for the filling, mixing and bagging process that would generate dust at a minimum rate. Georg Stein Process Equipment has been of support.

The solution

The new plant includes a filling station, a mixing station and a bagging station, but does not have an expensive and complex weighing station. Between these three stations they installed a pneumatic conveying system and the conveying air is generated by an Aerzen Positive Displacement Blower GM 3 S. “Positive Displacement Blowers of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik for the generation of pneumatic conveying air are the first choice for plant constructors and operators because of their high quality and reliability”, Stein explains. “Furthermore, the short chain of command at Aerzen provides prompt reactions and solutions even in special situation. As plant constructor we are always responsible to our customers for the complete solution. And in a pneumatically operating conveying plant the reliable generation of conveying air is of central significance.”

Aim attained promptly

Aerzen’s unit operates in an adjoining room. It is connected via pressure pipes with the filling, mixing and bagging station. The blower was dimensioned for a conveying capacity of about 2 to/h and operates in the medium pressure zone at a constant pressure of 0,8 bar. The complete plant has been operating perfectly from the day of commissioning in 2000, that we could attain our aim of a dust-free processing, very fast”, the General Manager, Wolfgang Lutter gladly stated. This is the same with Aerzen’s Positive Displacement Blower that has never failed.”
