AERZEN has been supplying blow- ers and compressors for the world- wide process gas and refrigeration industry for more than 60 years. Its cus- tomers include companies in the chemical and petrochemical industries, the steel and soda industries as well as biomethane gas producers. Due to the presence of partly ignitable, or toxic, gases, the units are of a specially high technical tightness. Furthermore, they are adapted to the guidelines required by the customers (for example, ATEX-specifications and Ex certifications).

Three compressor systems

The following series are available for a tai- lor-made solution.

• Oilfree compressing positive displacement blowers
  • Series GR for differential pressures of up to 1,5 mbar and intake volume flows from 100 to 50.000 m3/h
  • Series GQ for differential pressures of up to 1,5 mbar and intake volume flows of 15.000 to 100.000 m3/h

• Screw compressors, oil-injected compression:
  • Series VMY 36 (Refrigeration and process gas) for differential pressures, single-stage, to approximately 20 bar and intake volume flows from 500 to 8.900 m3/h
  • Series VMY 56 (Refrigeration and process gas) for differential pressures to 25 bar and intake volume flows of approximately 300 to 2.700 m3/h
  • Screw compressors, oilfree compression:
  • Series VR for differential pressures to 52 bar and intake volume flows of ap- proximately 650 to 120.000 m3/h

Positive Displacement Blowers of series GR

The two-lobe process gas compressors of series GR work according to the positive displacement principle, and can automatically adapt to changing operating conditions. Depending on process requirements, AERZEN uses nodular graphite casting, steel casting or stainless steel casting materials as well as for the rotors. Moreover, individual sealing variants are available for the conveying chamber, which is separated by a neutral room from the oil chamber. Due to their specially robust type of construction, the compressors are insensitive to contaminations in the gas. For cleaning and cooling, water, as well as solvent, cleaning agent or cooling medium, can be injected

Positive Displacement Blowers of series GQ 

The units of series GQ also work according to the positive displacement principle and can automatically adapt to changing operating conditions. Moreover, they are relatively insensitive to contaminations in the gas. For cooling of the gas, and for clean- ing of the conveying chamber, water can be continuously injected. The units have to fulfill particularly high requirements during their application in central power stations, where they are used for compression of water steam in secondary circuits.

Series VMY in the refrigeration industry

AERZEN refrigeration units of series VMY are used in closed cooling circuits and enable a performance adaptation between 20 and 100 percent with their integrated volume flow control. As a result, the com- pression of gases, hydrocarbons, ammonia, helium and carbon dioxide can be achieved particularly economically. The oil injection makes the compressors insensitive to fluctuating volumes, temperatures and pressures. Integrated oil separation systems reduce the residual oil content to 1 up to 5 mg/m3.

Series VMY for process gas compression 

Screw Compressors of series VMY are used for compression of, amongst other things, natural gas, inert gases, hydrocarbons and further process mixed gases. Through inte- grated oil separation systems, residual oil contents of 5 to 1 ppm can be reached at battery limits.

Oilfree compressing series VR

With their oilfree working method and the water injection option, screw compressors of series VR can be used for gases with fluctuating molecular weights, contaminations and a tendency to polymerise as well as for processes, which must not include any oil. The water injection serves to cool down gases to admissible operating temperatures. Temporarily, an injection of solvents is also possible. For this purpose, the cleaning effect of injection water and purge water leakages applies, where deposits of gas contaminations and traces of polymerisation on rotors and housing walls can occur.

To develop solutions jointly 

Gas compression in the process gas and refrigeration industry requires individual solutions. This is exactly what is developed by AERZEN, together with the plant supplier and operator. This leads to tailormade products which, are, moreover, robust and energy-efficient, and can have a lifespan in excess of 30 years.
